Many people are saying that the web is dead.  So is there still money to be earned on the Web?  The answer’s a big fat YES.

Studies show, time after time, that shoppers want to spend more online, and so the Internet is fast becoming an integral part of their lifestyle and it will continue to be so.  Net consumers are wary and they desire Sites that are convincing and worth shopping before they part with their money.
The traditional mainstream rules of business still apply to web business.  It’s careful to recollect that the web isn’t your business goal ; it’s a vehicle in helping you accomplish your business aims.

Develop a reasonable business plan. The largest reason why so many dotcoms failed is an inadequate business plan of how and when they will achieve profitability .  To have a successful and sustainable internet business, developing a reasonable business plan from the outset is crucial.  Your intention must have a clear vision which has meaning to you and your business.  Your main focus should be to’plan to profit inside a set period of time’ and this would force you to permit time for considerate researching, planning, execution and testing.  You’ll need to test out your business design first and ensure that it’s realistic and sustainable.  Don’t make the same mistakes that many websites made — trying to build a world brand before their business model even worked as it will lead you into insolvency quicker.  Without reference to how whimsical and good your site is, if your aim is not to earn money, you can go into bankruptcy.

Model someone successful. It is usually smart to profit from the botches of other people instead of to learn from your own mistakes as this can often be terribly costly and painful.  Track and learn from benchmarked success stories, be they your competitors or otherwise.  Why would you want to spend some time re-inventing the wheel when you can learn from those who have already been there and done it successfully.  Find out how they design their internet site, create products, write salescopy, their sales process, and so on.  I can recommend you The Millionaire Money System.

Focus on a niche market . Don’t be everything to everybody by trying to rule a massive and general market as you just simply cannot do it efficiently.  Target your online business on a targetable portion of the market or a narrowly outlined group of possible clients.  Address the requirement for a product or service that’s not being addressed by main line providers.  An advantage of this is that it’s less competitive in such a market as big businesses will not wish to be in it.  For this to be effective, the market niche that you are targeting must be fast moving, its clients accessible and there mustn’t already be a leader in that particular market niche.  The most important thing here is to discover a niche market, assess the wants of the market and then offer them your products and/or services that meet their wants.

Differentiate your business. To capture a bigger share of the market and be feasible, sustainable and rewarding, you must differentiate or distinguish your business from the competition ; make your business unique in the eyes of your clients and/or prospects.  Accomplish this by creating what’s named an Unique Selling Propostion or USP and then effectively convey that USP to your target audience through your promotional efforts and business performance. This is particularly vital if you are operating in a highly competitive market.  A USP is the most important thing or idea that sets your business favourably apart from your competitors.  Think about these questions ‘Whay quality makes your business different?  Why should folks buy from you and not from your competitors?  Do you guarantee great value, benefit or service?’ Your USP is the focal point around that the success and profitability of your business is built and so you have to be able to state it and fulfill it honourably and efficiently.

Spend your capital cleverly. Cost is one of the biggest determinants of your web business’ lifespan.  You’ll need to thoroughly track and control your costs from the outset and make sure you can begin to show a profit soon, as unmindful spending with no thought given to inward-bound resources will bleed you to death.  Convincing websites not only need cash to line up but also to maintain ; advertisements cost money.  Driving visitors to your web site where you lose money on sales made is suicidal.  Do your sums ; constantly refer back to your vision to discern whether an expense is guaranteed or pointed.
